Seriously. In a literal way.

There's this thing about me, where I like to wear hats. I have, by rough estimate, about 30 hats. At work, obviously, I can't. But on weekends, and when home, I do wear them. Usually, it's one of my Maryland or Michigan caps.

In a stunning development, I've noticed some of my hats aren't fitting well anymore. (The Brooklyn Dodger hat, the Redskins hat.) For a moment, I wondered whether it was variable based upon haircut, but it's not.

Apparently, I'm going from a 7 1/4 to a 7 3/8.

Is that freaky? I can deal with fluctuations in weight, and waist size. But seriously, what's up with that. Do peoples' heads just shrink or expand in adulthood? At least the Fedora still fits.

Heeeeeeeeee! Er, I mean...oh, no!

In perhaps a demonstration of how the internet can sometimes be abused, the stuff I'm reading about increased circumference of the head in adults is not very encouraging. They're talking about blood pressure and stuff like that that doesn't sound very good. You wanna do me a favor and check with your physician and alleviate my concerns?

My family, at least on my father's (and grandfather's) side, has a history of high blood pressure and heart attacks. Granted, they were all smokers, and had events between their late 50s-70s.

But I can look into it.

Hands, feet, nose and ears keep growing. Never heard that the head gets bigger, but I have trouble buying (women's) hats because they are always "one size fits all" that doesn't fit me.

Ah. With men's hats - they're either fitted as Small-Medium-Large, or by the baseball cap system. Which means it's usually easy enough to find a hat (7 1/4 - 7 3/8) being fairly common sizes. Which is great, until my head gets big, and then I suddenly can't wear them anymore.

*pouts*

All the funny lines were taken.

Though I, too, am rather bemused by this embiggening of your head.

Yeah. Cause it's not your head, and it's not your suddenly obsolete hat collection.

Well, I have to admit, some of my hats (my fedora, whine!) don't fit any more, either. I was figuring they'd actually shrunk in the typical Florida humidity, though.

DaBigHeadDave.

Sorry. *scampers away*
