Don't have any big or deep comments today. But I was amused to hear, on the drive home, the following comment during a discussion of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue:

Paulina Porizkova was like the Dražen Petrović of swimsuit models.

Because, yeah, that's how us sports watching guys go about ranking things...

And on that note, Top Five (in no order) Winter Olympics Sports:

1. The Downhill
2. Large Hill Ski Jump
3. Curling
4. Biathalon
5. Men's Ice Hockey

Just missing the cut:

6. 3000M Speed Skating
7. Luge

With Speed-Skating, it's about the middle distances. Long enough to be more than a little sprint, but not so long I get bored...

The Downhill is just about the most exciting event for me to watch. Dudes just zooming down the mountainside out of control. I love when they go around a corner, and the camera switches where you see people just flying down the hills...

The ones I don't get into are the judging sports - I recognize the beauty and drama in figure skating - but I can't figure out how to get behind something I can't objectively measure. That's just me, though. I know lots of folks who love it...
