NCAA Tourney Pool Update

Those who follow college basketball had a crazy weekend, wherein three of the four regional finals went to overtime. And where Maryland advanced to the semi-finals of the NIT Tourney to be played in NYC. My sisters will be going - I have to work.


Last year, sistakaren won - it was a four team race entering the last weekend. This year - it's three - and it comes down to our championship game picks. Based upon a cursory review of the LJ Bracket Challenge Group, here are my projected results depending upon the various title game results:

1. Illinois defeats North Carolina------------------dlgood * (87-81)

Note that if both Louisville and Michigan State win on Saturday, our champ is hjcallipygian

And just like that, my hate for Billy Donovan is gone. Buying students pizza is awesome. The only other coach I can imagine doing that is Rick Majerus.

Plus I really like the Munster hair. I think it's hilarious.

Yeah, no kidding. Both of my parents went to FSU, as does my younger brother, so my opinion of Spurrier was a little... jaded, shall we say, when I arrived in Gainesville. I also think he's highly over-rated as a college coach. He had some great recruiting years and then combined with Bob Stoops to get lucky one year for a national championship. His only other achievement of note was being a modern offensive coach who got hired in an antiquated conference.

I have to admit, I'm a bit excited to see what Urban Meyer is going to do. I want to call him Oscar, too. Or Lane.
