Journal Update, Unfortunate Ad Campaigns

Had a nice weekend. The weather was crappy, but Maryland picked up a nice win over Georgia Tech. I did a LJ Style change, because after a year and a half, that old look was starting to feel a bit stale.

As a side note, I came across McDonald's unfortunate new ad while browsing Page 2 of ESPN this morning.








Clearly, despite their fine efforts to appear "hip", "urban" and "cool" - the folks at Mickey D's have outed themselves as very much not due to the lack of awareness as to what I'd Hit It actually means. Unless they really did mean to take the I'm Lovin It campaign to a whole new, literal, "American Pie" level.

So. At some point this week, I might post again. I'm strangely tempted to post rants (of my own, not in response to the meme) or perhaps talk about my grandparents and family. We shall see if that motivation holds up.

I have to wonder if maybe they were making up slang, much like Joss Whedon did for Buffy. Only they happened to accidentally come up with a phrase already in use.

If it makes them feel better, "I'm a Dollar Menu Guy" has taken on a whole new meaning at the office.
