I hate that the first night of Hanukkah fell on a Friday, as it meant I had to give up wacky night out fun for the big Friends & Family gathering at the homestead, wherein I must hear the same stories over and over again. And yet, good times were had.
So. Hanukkah is not a particularly important Holiday. There's a story about the oil that never runs out, and some sweet, sweet dreidel action. But really We just care about scoring.
And he wins:
1. Massaging/heating neck pillow. Yours truly spends much time on the PC and has creaky joints. Much appreciated.
2. Sweaters and fine shirts. Differing shades of blue and some charcoal grey. Cause yo' - Bobbie the styling consultant was quite clear that blue is my color.
3. New baseball caps to replace the aging and grodier members of my collection.
4. Dope-ass Saute pan. For when I've got needs the Foreman Grill and the Barbeque can't handle. No more reliance on my dinky-ass skillet. I am pleased.
5. A fancy Cheese serving set. WTF? Clearly, the bright idea of one of the women. Because, really. I don't often have people over. And the people I have over don't do the fancy cheese thing. Or the fancy serving set thing. It's more like the "beer and pretzels and where are the damn poker chips, bitch" thing. I have no use for this, but must pretend I love it. Look, I like cheese and all. But, last year they got me the fancy Delft Cheese slicer and grater set from Holland.
6. Indiana Jones DVD Collection. Fullscreen. Something will have to be done about that. I like the movies. Am happy to have them. But I did not drop what I dropped on my entertainment center to watch movies in non-Widescreen formats. I am such a snob.
7. Cash Money. $$$$$$ My favorite. I guess I'll have to buy some damn Gouda.
8. Socks. 8 Pairs. Thick and warm. It wouldn't be Hanukkah without them.
At some point, I will post my thoughts on Return of the King. Still processing. Probably going to see it again first. Also - will have to yap with Doc Flieger, because I think she's working on another book about the professor and I'm curious what she will add.

Re: I haven't seen it
I never liked lines. I have this thing about wasting time. I don't like to do it. Movies have gotten so expensive, especially when you factor in a baby sitter and I prefer to just cuddle on the couch. I'd rather rent most things.
This week we rented "Down with Love." I thought it was great. I chose it because my parents were here and I suggested that my dad and Hubby take the older to a hockey game. That left Mom and me alone (bad idea) once the baby went to sleep. I wanted something the guys wouldn't see and this has Renee Zellwiger and Ewan McGregor in it. It was very well done I thought. I loved everything about it and they both get to sing/dance at the end. I've seen it three times, but it has to go back today. It's hard to talk about without really ruining it, but I would love to find someone to talk with about it.

Small spaces don't bug me either. People smushed together, bumping and stepping on things does. All those arms and legs and bodies. Too much to watch.
