Something to Actually do For Work

Appropos of nothing, have suddenly gotten a business trip on monday to Puget Sound Navay Shipyard. So that's pretty cool. Upside as this gives me something to do while they don't have my office set up. So I'll get to tour the torpedo facilities and go out on a carrier and a boomer.

Only downside being... my first trip to Seattle, and mostly the only time I'm going to be actually in the city is when I stay over the last night at the airport hotel. So I won't get to do touristy things, like have people throw fish at me and whatnot.

Even so, big neat fun...

If I remember, the airport is well on the south side of Seattle. I hope you can go downtown and take the ferry across to Bremerton and the shipyard. It's a lot more impressive and scenic than driving around the end of the Sound through Tacoma.

We have to drive through Tacoma, at least on the way out -- because we're in a hurry to get to the facilities. Maybe coming back we can.
