Does anyone ever just get bored at work and read Random Wikipedia Entries while they're waiting for Congress to do something? Okay, just me.
So I don't know that this is true or anything, but the entry on the TV Series, Dallas, claims that Knots Landing was the initial pitch and that the creator supplied Dallas when the Network said it wasn't good enough. And then got Knots in the backdoor as a spinoff later. That makes me laugh, for no reason.
I still have to admit that I think JR Ewing was one of the most hilarious TV characters ever. You have to love a guy so rotten that when he gets shot, every single other character in the cast has a motive to do it. Also, that show has the most addictive theme music ever.
Da da da da, du du duh duh du da, da da da da da... or, you know, if I had any clue how to actually put out notation for it. Trust me, it was cool...

It wasn't good enough for me either! But not because I thought Dallas was such a good idea. If I remember correctly I watched the first episode of Dallas because Gilligan's "The movie star," Tina Louise was going to be part of the show. Her character was dead before the end of the hour. Never had time to see if she could actually act. ;o)
