Was crushed when PTI was pre-empted by World Baseball Classic. I really like the idea of the WBC, and enjoyed watching the Dominican team play, but I really would have much rather watched Jim Boehiem give his tourney prognostications with Wilbon and Mr. Tony.

Also, watched the Women's Selection show and am pleased to report that the Mayland women's team got a #2 seed. It would have been nice to get the #1, but I can't really argue with LSU, Ohio State, Duke and Carolina as the 1-seeds. They're going to be the Title Favorites next year, I'm pretty sure, so maybe this year they can build to that with a Final Four run - like the Men did in 2001.

Was saddened though, to see a bit of a subpar broadcasting performance by Stacey Dales-Schulman, who the first time in memory, appeared to be on TV for the sole reason of her being extremely pretty. Usually, she's also a good broadcaster. Even so, I'd still like to go over her brackets... [/The Todd]

I'm not sure what's going to happen with the WBC in the future. Although the attendance for the games here in Phoenix was fine, it wasn't outstanding, though Mexico and the US played here. It definitely did hurt Spring Training attendance, while it was here. So I'd guess some changes will be made if they do it again any time soon.

It would seem to me, that one idea might be to change the timing. My idea would be to have a two week break one year and do it in place of the all-star game. That, or have it at the end of the season. Although, November would probably be too cold, even in southern cities... But march just seems like a bad time of year. I love baseball, and I love the prospect of having a Major League stadium built, literally, across the street from my office... and I really like the concept... but my biggest sports love is Maryland Basketball and Basketball is where my head is always going to be at in March.
