So, this weekend, my kid sister's boyfriend proposed to her. Everyone in the family is very excited. Except for me, because, well duh. Future BiL is a good kid, so I'm happy for them both. But, it was gonna happen when it was gonna happen. Big Sis was tapped to be maid of honor - so I will slide into my role of somehow staying out of it most of the time, and being not worked up - so I can keep Big Sis from shooting herself or mom or Kid Sis. Because Mom and Kid Sis are going to be butting heads for the next year. Mom, being overinvolved, and kidSis being.... difficult.

So a brief word on the future BiL. He's a good kid, smart, hard working, well mannered. Sense of humor, and laid back - which is key cause my sister is so high strung. And as some readers may know, my sister and her BF are currently my tenants. And he always pays me my money on time. I really look forward to my sister complaining that mom loves the BF more than her. Is very, very funny.

Also, enjoying the Olympics despite the major biffing on the US efforts. Love the new SkiJump cams. When are we going to get a sled-cam view of the bobsled run? Also - if there were a gold medal in Extreme Hot-Being, my current favorite is Russia's Tatiana Navka. Tanith Belbin a very close Silver.

When my sister got married, she was about 2,400 miles away from the hometown. It made for far less confrontation than would have been the case otherwise.

Good luck with that whole staying out of the line of fire thing.

Thanks. For us, we all still live within 20 miles of the parents. On this one, I'm just going to lay back and take advantage of being the boy... They didn't even ask my opinion about set up when it was my Bar Mitzvah. I'm mostly in the clear on this...

I think that Sasha Cohen is pretty good-looking, too. I think I'd place her above Belbin, but I am a dude who prefers brunettes to blondes.

Sasha's very cute. At least, she is with her hair down. She's just too little for my tastes. As to the hair color issue, I open to all hair colors* - it's about whether the hair color is a good match to the rest of the person.

*Note: Red hair gets my attention fastest.
