I'm still fairly content free right now. I'm enjoying another eggs and potato heavy Passover. I think I'm going to Red Hot & Blue tonight to watch the Bullets (I refuse to accept this 'Wizards' renaming nonsense) play the Bulls. Barbecue Beef Brisket. Mmmm...

I'm getting another publication bonus from work, which is swell, as I can re-direct that toward replacing the burnt out husk of my old CRT. I'm stepping up to at a 19" LCD. With pivot action. I spend half my time at work with really lengthy documents, and rotating into portait mode is super-nifty.

Saw "Serenity" Trailer. Continue to not get "Firefly" at all. Sorry. Does nothing for me. Zippo.

Heh. I understand the Firefly confusion. I was surprised how much I liked the trailer though, considering I have no interest in the series (past that one very boring episode I watched). But I think Serenity is an awful name for a movie about spaceships and such. Nevertheless, I'm very interested in seeing it.

Oh, I thought the trailer looked plenty pretty. And if a critical mass of my friends want to go to the Uptown, I just might do it. But probably not...

And really, Serenity? I think it's a much better Stripper Name than Space Adventure name, but then, I'm not in the business, am I?

Me, too. I had seen some of the eps when they aired but I've had the DVD set for months and I'm just not into it. But the trailer makes me want to watch the movie. Will probably wait until it comes out on DVD though.

Thanks. I'm very excited. I had my 19 CRT for many many years and it served well. But it died last month, and I find the even older 17", curved, non-trinitron CRT that I'm currently getting by with to be impossible. Good thing I'm gettin' that bonus.

I don't get it either. Watched every episode of Firefly trying to understand it. Evil Little Dog and I were taping it because it was up against something either and it got to be a joke around the house that if we messed up, punishment would be to watch Firefly. Trust me, we dont' get the attraction either.

Welcome to the Anti-Squee. Or I suppose it's more of an Un-Squee.

I didn't hate the show when it aired overly much, but I did come away with the feeling that Joss and ME thought that they were doing some Really Profound and Meaningful, but the finished product didn't live up to their lofty expectations.

I understand that some folks are still big Joss-fans and are excited to see something by him that he's clearing interested in and enthusiastic about. I'm just not willing to put that much trust in Joss anymore.

Oh, I'm sure there are people who just genuinely like it. Regardless of whether it has the Whedon brand name on it. Just as I happen to not care for it, also regardless of the Whedon brand name. There are folks who will love and hate things based upon that, but I'm generally not one.

Joss, obviously, really cares about the product. Which is generally a good thing. In the specifics? I just don't give a crap about the setting or the characters so it doesn't matter. It might well actually be quite good - won't matter because I'm just not into it.
