Things-a-goin' on... Been awhile since I posted. A very kind person has rather generously gifted me with paid LJ time, so now I'm going to have to start thinking about the features and coming up with something special for kidz. Aside from more iconses... Thanks to all those who wished me a Happy B-Day yesterday, on what was my 29th.

The cool part about New Years, is when the friends come back into town. I got to hang with Jesse, Sherm and the old CP crew. Good times were had. There was movies and beer, poker and football, and the hurling of insults. I really need to work on my language filters, though. We had the annual New Year's Eve party at Rich & Carrie's, and there were many small children about. Which was okay, while I watched Jeopardy!. (My buddy Mike lost in Final Jeopardy! in the fine Maryland tradition.) But then the show ended, we got back to socializing. I still swear way too much, and too loudly.

But the kiddies were put to bed at 9:30, and the card tables came out, at which point the cursing is par for the course. Between the Peach Bowl and the Poker, most of us missed the ball drop. Again. Some things, I guess, are less interesting.

In other news, I played football all day Saturday without hint of injury despite my crummy conditioning, and then promptly tripped going up the stairs at home, jamming my left wrist. I reek of Ben-Gay.

Happy belated birthday -- hope you heal up soon.

Thanks. I'll be fine sooner or later.

Happy Birthday, Happy New Year, and Happy Wrist Recoery Time!

Sounds like a pretty good New Year's to me. I know how you feel re: the wrist. I climbed to the top of Harney Peak, nearly 8,000 feet up in SD. I fell on the steps of the stupid observation tower. A mountain, no problem, steps, obviously a danger. I ended up needing knee surgery. Hope the wrist fares much better

It shouldn't be too bad. At this point my wrist and thumb are sore, but there's no swelling or discoloration, and I haven't lost any functionality. It's my left hand, so I mostly only use it for steering when I drive.

You probably just bruised it good which for you is a good thing

Hey you!

Been awhile since I posted

Yep. Not that I would've noticed or anything since I haven't been around much either.

Happy belated 29th and congrats on the LJ gift thingie. I won't go into the whole Yseult never knows when anyone's birthday is because... well... Yseult never knows when anyone's birthday is.

It's not a big thing. Other folks tend to pay more attention to the day than I do.

That Rose Bowl loss was annoying. Can somebody tackle Vince Young. And maybe take some timeouts so we can get the ball back, instead of letting the game end on a Field Goal.

Aside from the wrist, it sounds like you were appropriately celebratory. So, it's all to the good.

And I found it quite amusing that a large number of b-day wishes for you wound up posted to my LJ. Maybe I can tout myself as the official greeting space.

That was amusing. A2Zmom's house of greetings... fill up a table with the TWOP regulars.
