Maryland 20
Florida State 17

This is a momentous upset, and Maryland's biggest win at home since 1983, when Boomer Esiason led the Terps over #3 ranked UNC.

And as some may know, I'm a Maryland alum, and season ticket holder.
And I wasn't there
I sold my ticket.

I am such a dope.
But seriously, who the hell knew? Maryland, against FSU, outdid the total offensive performances in the three previous games against NC State, Georgia Tech, and Clemson.

Also: Lazy HalLoween costume update.
Red Flannel shirt. Roll of Paper towels.
Yes. I was the "Brawny" Paper Towel Guy.

And tomorrow, I will go unshaven, wear a flannel shirt and a backwards hat. I will act gruff, yet reveal myself to be a softie. Yes. I am "Luke" from the "Gilmore Girls".

All Hail Lazy Halloween.

Also, yes, there was UNC's 31-28 upset over Miami. And Michigan's improbable 17-point 4th quarter comback to defeat rival Michigan State in 3OT. A special college-football watching day.

that's the first I saw of that score. my brother-in-law will be doing backflips (and yes, he WAS at the game!) also his baby's first first birthday, I'm sure he's drawing some kind of connection.

yay for lazy halloween. short skirt, tank top, and a stupid hat made me a Hilton sister. (I didn't even have to wear a wig, like "Paris" did).

There you go.

Yeah. So Maryland over FSU, and UNC over Miami. Craziness.

Yay! I'm also happy about our kickass upset as well. I guess the expansion is really good for football, huh?

It was always going to be good for the leage $$$-wise. But nobody expected either of these upsets. FSU and Miami are always going to be at the top, but I think maybe there's some hope that the other teams are going to get competetive.

Yes. I was the "Brawny" Paper Towel Guy.

I hear there's a ton of fanfic surrounding this guy. Expect presents from secret admirers.

Aw, I love Luke!
Sunday, October 31st, 2004 07:16 (UTC)
Sure. When I do watch that show, I find him likeable. Plus, "Luke" is a super-easy costume.

Who knew a flannel shirt could be so versatile?

ACC football is usually so sad to watch, but yesterday was a big day.

I'm not a sports fan, but even I know that bites the big one.

I feel your pain.

Thank you for that. Now having seen where you're neighborhood is, I wonder if you could hear the cheering when that Overtime went down?

You know that bit where I mentioned that I'm not a sports fan? The corollary to that is that I pay as little attention to Michigan football as I can manage (something considerably easier to do now that I live a whole mile from the stadium instead of half a mile).
Sunday, October 31st, 2004 17:08 (UTC)
Heh. Come to think of it, I don't even know who won.

I wanted to watch the Michigan/Michigan State game, but the Breeders' Cup was on all afternoon, then I was obligated to go to the grocery store. I did see some of the fourth quarter and all the OT, though, and it ended up like I wanted.
Sunday, October 31st, 2004 16:51 (UTC)
Well, that 4th Quarter and OT was really the important part to watch, so it's good you caught that.
