A big thanks to all those who commented on my "Anniversary" entry. The network of folks I've traded comments with has made the time on LJ an interesting and fun experience.

Looking forward to a semi-quiet week.

Haggai, who moved down from Ann Arbor will be moving out and getting his own apartment this week. On the one hand, I'll have the place to myself which is nice. OTOH, I will miss having a roommate, particularly as we've got a lot of common interests.

And particularly as he was paying rent.
And particularly as he has that 46" HDTV and the massive collection of classic DVDs.

Side note - do not rent "To End All Wars". Surprisingly, it's not about WWI, but rather British troops trapped in a Japanese POW camp in WWII. Had a good time hanging out with husband of [livejournal.com profile] kita0610 while she and [livejournal.com profile] ros_fod went dancing, but that was one depressing-ass flick.

POW stories are supposed to be a laugh riot, Dave. Don't you know that?

But seriously, advice well taken. Right now, the only war movies I'm remotely interested in seeing are Bravo Two Zero and The Battle of Algiers. Well, I take that back. I'm always interested in seeing The Dogs Of War, but I haven't seen available for years.

Hope everything goes all right with Haggai and you.

"Hogan's Heroes" was so much fun! I'm not averse to war movies, or even POW flicks (like Bridge On the River Kwai) - this one was just exceptionally depressing.

There weren't any problems with Haggai. He came down looking for a job in DC, and ended up getting hired in Alexandria. Unlike me, he is unwilling to go into work at 7 AM to avoid the traffic, so he's mvoing to be closer to his office. And he's taking his TV and DVD's with him.
