Tournament chances are alive after all. Must beat UVa.

Seeing this movie is like getting hit by a bus. Well done, but really depressing. And extemely well acted.

Sean Penn really reminds me of Robert DeNiro in this movie. Mostly the good one. Tim Robbins was so subdued. Actually, I thought the best performance was Laurence Fishburne as "Whitey Powers".

I missed quite a few of the plot twists, and nailed some of the others. And wow did Laura Linney creep me out in her closing scene.

I saw this a few weeks back and really liked it...although, man it was gloomy. I thought all the performances were really excellent but Marcia Gay Hardman impressed me the most, especially all alone at the parade, watching for her son. Wah! Considering how elliptical the movie was, I thought Eastwood did a terrific job of sewing it all together. And I agree about Laura Linney: Lady Macbeth! Really made me appreciate her talents after her copmpletely sympathetic performance in Love, Actually.

And I agree about Laura Linney: Lady Macbeth!

It was really weird. Because throughout the whole movie, I just thought she was the typical grieving mother and quiet wife. And then suddenly we get that last scene and she becomes very, very scary.
