I can has...

A new car!!!

This is my brand new, 2011 Hyundai Sonata. It makes me happy. The electrical system is wholly reliable.

I loved my previous car, a 2000 Honda Accord. (not this one, but one just like it, except that mine was much dirtier and dinged and did not have that rooftop deflector thingie...)

Which was all well and great, until the alternator and batter kept falling apart on me. Now I have a new car in which to drive to work at 2200. And it has an awesome, 10-years better radio/telematics system. Hooray! There is much rejoicing!

Oh, very smart!! Does it run on Cheezburgers?
Monday, July 12th, 2010 18:36 (UTC)
Sadly no, though it's about 20% more fuel efficient than my old car.

Yes, but, how's the GPS system?
Monday, July 12th, 2010 18:35 (UTC)
Pretty much the same as Bit's. I should have checked to see if it had that street in Flagstaff the townhouse was on, but I dont remember it anymore

But is it repeatedly insisting you "make a legal u-turn"?

; D
Monday, July 12th, 2010 20:22 (UTC)
1. Yes, it does repeatedly ask me to make legal u-turns, sometimes when I only need to go straight.

2. It does have that street where the townhouse in flagstaff was...

Oooh, nice.
My car is 15 years old..and I'm praying it makes it to 16, because I can't afford a new one just now.
Still, I have new car envy!

Thanks Dave - what a beauty!!

The lease on my Saturn Aura is up in 10 months, and my Saturn dealer is selling Hyundai's now. SO glad to know that you like yours. Did they deal? Did you consider any other models?

Congratulations!! Stay cool (if you can@)

I looked mostly at midsized sedans with 4 cylinder engines. The 4 cylinders are getting plenty powerful now, and the gas mileage can be a lot better.

I looked at pretty much all of them. Accord, Camry, Ford Fusion, Nissan Altima, Mazda 6. They're all good, just depends on your preference.

I felt like the Hyundai was the best balance of price, content, performance and style. (Style being a very personal choice -- I liked the Fusion as a car but thought it was ugly.)

The Hyundai dealership by me does a "No Haggle" posted pricing. Pricewise, they were in line with (and slightly better) than the Edmunds (http://www.edmunds.com) TMV for my region, so I'm reasonably okay with what I paid.

WONDERFUL - thank you so much Dave!! Enjoy.....

Quick note - not all Hyundais are no haggle - that was just the dealer by me. (He;s got a string of different brands in PA-MD-VA) YOu can research the ones in your area on dealerrater.com

Thanks Dave - I appreciate the tip!!

This dealership USED to be a no haggle Saturn dealership (one of the things i liked best about Saturn) - so it may still be no haggle. I will make sure to ask!
