I appear to have done something to offend...

Was at a birthday party for the twin three-year-olds of a family friend. Don't know what I did or when, but suddenly, my lower back seems to have caught fire.

Actually, I'm back at home and doing quite fine now. You know, as long as I don't move. Otherwise, it's burning pain from my left hip joint into the center of my lower back.

Today's strategy involves Motrin PM, Icy Hot, and sleep...

Hit up the anti-inflammatories. (I can't remember where Motrin falls in the drug categorization. You may have that already covered.) If the problem is comimg from a bulging disc, that's your best bet. If the pain isn't getting better in the next couple of days your next step would be a doc to possibly get an Rx for steroids to help with the inflammation and shrink that disc back down.

Of course, even if it's not a disc anti-inflammatories are usually a good bet, covers the burisitis or arthritis or pulled muscles spectrum too. Hope it feels better soon.

Oh, how I have been there. And I do mean that literally. The burning pain into the left hip joint, and up into the lower back. It was a bitch, and I sincerely hope it is not a slipped disc like I had, because six months later, it's still not totally better.

So, since it's too late to wish for you not to suffer it in the first place, I send my best wishes that it's a strain or a sprain and nothing else.

Good luck, all my best to you.

Substitute midback for low back and that was me a week ago. Good luck, sleep well and hopefully when you wake up you'll be on the mend.

Gentle hugs. :-)
