A brief break from what will mostly be sports talk if I continue to post this month.

Have obtained something truly awesome:

My new "Freehands" gloves.

These are truly a marvel. Convertible gloves, where the fingertips (thumb and index) flip back. Especially during this winter, I'm reminded of how useful gloves are, but how much I need fingertips.

Like when I want to answer my cell phone in the cold. Or when I have to change a tire in below freezing temperatures. (Winter '99 on Rt23 in Michigan...)

Maybe it's stupid to get really psyched about a pair of gloves, but I am loving these...

Oh, those look very nifty! I've seen gloves that have a finger covering that turns them into mittens, but when you need to use your fingers all of them get exposed to the cold.

I'd seen those gloves too, but found them useless because the finger I really want free is my thumb. And also, I dislike mittens - I know mittens keep your hand warmer than regular gloves, but I want my fingers separate so I can use them...

Can't tell you how many times I've had to pull off gloves in the cold and find some place to stuff them till I could put them back on. This looks like a fine idea.

Ooh! I love product review. Those look Awesome. They'll definitely be on the christmas list next year. I love gloves. They're indispensable. But not being able to use my iPod while wearing them is a problem.

Yeah - after another week, still liking them very much. For anyone who likes gloves, but is incapable of taking a break from technology.

I was JUST thinking of knitting something like this, with a retractable thumb since that's all I need. I'm not surprised someone has already marketed these!
