Interesting development of the week. Michelle Wie missed the cut by one stroke on the Hawaii open. (A Professional Golfer's Association tour event) This is pretty special, a woman performing so well in competetion against the best male athletes in the world. More notably, Michelle Wie is fourteen. She's in 9th grade. In terms of athletics, Men got about an 80-year head start over women on the modern era. But times have changed. Title IX. Sports bras. Too many cable sports networks and not enough programming. More and more, there's been a growing emphasis on womens athletics. My older sister was an all-state softball player at three different positions in High School, and I've no doubt todays female athletes leave her in the dust.

Gradually, we're going to learn just how much the human body is capable of, and I suspect, how less the distinction between gender and performance really is, all other things being equal. (Which they aren't, but the gap is less and less.) So, that's of interest to me.

Tossing out ideas... back in college, we used to amuse ourselves on road trips by trying to come up with the most ridiculous ideas for TV Shows or Movies, and then casting them. Maybe at some point, I'll post a few gems.

In the meantime, here's the kind of stuff we'd toss out to whet the whistle:

Sanford & Gunn - Fred Sanford is back from the dead, and with a little help from his grand-nephew Charles Gunn, he's back up and running a junkyard in Watts. When a mystical talisman disappears, and Officer Smitty bungles the case, Aunt Esther gets ready to break out the dark mojo. Will Gunn save the day with his newfound legal expertise, or is he just a big dummy?

Lastly, my sole drabble for this week's [livejournal.com profile] open_on_sunday challenge. The theme was to write a character/pairing or somesuch you hadn't before. I rarely do relationship, and was planning to focus on a minor character, but then this idea came up.

I rarely write Xander, because I just don't live in his head. I've never written slash. And yet...

Title: Tabooey
Pairing: Xander/Xander
Spoilers: BtVS 5.03, “The Replacement”
Disclaimer: Property of Mutant Enemy

When he was 12, Xander learned to love his penis. A lot. Probably too much. That was before Bug Ladies and Inca Mummy Girls.

Anya says she loves it, and he’s inclined to believe her.

He’s been curious. But this doesn’t count. He tries not to think about screwing his twin. It’s just an experiment. And sure, he knows Angel was buff, Riley’s cool, and Spike is compact, yet well muscled. But Xander Harris is not gay…

There’s no thinking during sex. Kissing. Fondling. Groping. And some anal penetration. But no thinking.

He’s not gay. Xander just loves his penis.

A.N.: Inspired by Xander’s line “She entirely wants to have sex with us (the two Xanders) together. Which is ... *wrong*, and, and it would be very confusing.”

Welcome to Hell, sweetheart.

I've saved you a seat right over here....

Yeah. I've managed to get slash, incest, and masturbation all in one ficlet. That's pretty special. Imagine how special it would be in the hands of a real writer.

Wouldn't sex with your alternate self be masturbation rather than incest?

But to the extent where your alternate self is essentially your identical twin brother, it's incest as well.

Golf and Xander sex in one post...surely that's not legal.

Guess which bit I liked better. *g*

I dunno. I was hoping folks would like "Sanford & Gunn" - I think that baby's got a chance.

Sanford & Gunn is *priceless* - when Aunt Esther broke out the dark mojo... I'm still giggling!

Please post more of these!

I will at sometime. Eventually, I will post my "vision" for the Scooby-Doo movie circa the great 1999 winter roadtrip from Ann Arbor to Philly.
