So, two notable things this week that dovetail into an actual post.

1. I'm Sick
2. Season Premier of Nip/Tuck

How is I sick. Illustration - since sunday night, I have restricted my intake to Orange Juice, Hot Tea, Soup, and Robitussin. I have the head cold chest cold all over congestion sinus pressure thing working. I have managed to drag myself to the office on Tues and Weds because I am a warrior and because my coworkers don't have the sense of self preservation to order me home before I infect them.

Illness, for me, leads to introspection. And also phlegm. And introspection about phlegm.

Like - wow - I'm shall we say - producing a lot of material. And it's not like it can be used for fertilizer or anything. Actually, in a way - I'm kind of offended. I resent the idea that my body can produce this much ooze and there is absolutely no constructive output for it.

I'm not saying I want to collect and measure the entire volume of my nasal discharge and donate it to Dow Chemical or anything. But on an intellectual level, I kind of feel like something positive should come from this ... other than an eventual semblance of clear sinuses.

Which actually reminds me of Nip/Tuck. Much like sinus inflammation, it's something that's been coming into my life every so often over the past few years. Lets me get all introspective about mortality and ways in which people are very ill. And ultimately concludes without anything much produced from it.

But seriously. The show is lovely crack. Much like my beloved 'tussin. It always makes feel happy and kind of gross at the same time.

I hope you feel better soon.

and kind of gross at the same time.

I found I can't watch it if my MIL is in the room. Too many kinds of wrong.

I'll be fine. These things come and go, usually whenever our weather starts yo-yo-ing...

I found I can't watch it if my MIL is in the room.

No kidding. It's freaky-deaky.

I didn't watch much of it last season. And normally I watch it between my fingers anyway, just in case I don't want to see what I don't want to see.

Been there, done that, went through three boxes of Kleenex in two days. I actually tried Zycam (generic, though) when it started, and I think the zinc supplement knocked the cold down faster than if I'd let it run its course without intervention.

Good luck with the various forms of snot emerging from your body.

*crosses fingers* So far this winter, I have not been sick.

And yeah, it's like "I snot, therefore I am", isn't it? All that ... gunk and it's just gross.

However, try echinacea. I find when I take that, I'm less sick and for less time, which is always nice.

*sends more soup*

Thanks. I'm working with the Mucinex and Robitussin so far, and it'll clear up soon.

Someday, some enterprising genius is going to discover a way to bottle it and use it to power lawnmowers. And we will be all "take that, grass pollen!"

And, well, I'm working with some stuff here. I'm thinking I'll be clear by Friday.

Go by the deli, Warrior, and get some chicken soup.

Get to feeling better soon.

feel better

Yikes. Feel better! And drink water. Really, even if you're not remotely thirsty, try to keep sipping at a glass of water regularly. Tea or soup are good too, but they're good largely because of the water in them.

LOL. The human body is amazing in its capacity to produce quantities of icky substances...take it from someone who has seen the truly gross, and survived to talk about it. I remember one time ...oh, you probably don't want details. LOL.
Oh, yeah, nursing is a glamourous job. ;P
ETA: Sorry, forgot to wish you a speedy return to glowing health!

FEEL BETTER. Sorry - it's a nasty cold a few people up here have too. I'm washing my hands like a mo-fo.

Interesting to note. I always assumed that Tea & Soup had magical bronchial clearing powers due to being hot.

Heh. Yes, but some of them - not that we use them for such purposes - at least provide nourishment back to valuable parts of the ecology like plants or vampires. No self-respecting demon is going to subsist on nasal discharge.

I am going through hand sanitizer like crazy.

Offers chicken soup.

That sounds like the nasty I had last February that kicked me to the curb for an entire week. I hated it.

Guess that's why the SnotMonster is so far down on the demon social scale, lol.

Ah, another person with the dreaded "it". You know that it's the dreaded "it" when it hangs around for more than a week.

Yep, I too have relegated myself to tea, orange juice, and soup lately. Also have been watching Nip/Tuck. Although it went a bit off the charts last year, seems to actually be sort of digestible and not-so-bad this year. I was pleasantly surprised by this week's episode, not sure if that's because Julia and Kelly Clarkson weren't in it or it was oddly subdued for Nip/Tuck standards?

It is a bit trippy watching while ill though.

I think the subdued nature of this Nip/Tuck also was a factor of not having a "Special Guest". Once they start an extended arc involving a new character played by a higher profile actor, they get more and more crazy.
