GIP? Go Incinerate People? Grind Into Pieces? Goat In Play? Get Idiot P... um... I'm empty. What is GIP? And if it's something really easy, be gentle, I'm sick. ;)
So is Army, apparently, they didn't have any numbers to put up on the scoreboard according to ESPN.
Also - Navy is very good, and Army currently is not. The problem is structural. The Army and Navy have various physical requirements that preclude them from having the really, really big guys that play now. So Navy adapted by using a very unusual, and archaic offensive system that his made them competitive despite having smaller players.
After years of trying to play a modern style, Army has switched to using the same system Navy uses. But it's very complex, and takes time to learn/install. In a few years, if the coaches are good, Army will be competitive with Navy again.
Sometimes the old ways work best, especially when the other team doesn't know how to defend against it. I hadn't realized that NAVY/ARMY wouldn't have the ginormous big guys, but it makes sense. They're really not in good shape, at least not the kind we want for the service. Can you imagine some of those linemen trying to fit in a sub? *mind boggles*
Well, space is a big part of it. You can get a really big guy on a sub... but you wouldn't want to. One of my best friends is a former lineman - 6'5" 340 lbs. ... and I took him on the MINNEAPOLIS-ST PAUL and it was not a comfortable fit. And you certainly wouldn't want them in a fighter plane cockpit or inside a tank.
And yeah - you don't want to ask a 340-lb guy to walk ten miles across the desert...
