Because I am fat with Football Bar Food Specials, and continue to be not motivated enough to post actual original content:

Name a character from one of my fandoms, and I'll give you one of: (a) three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon, (b) a reason he/she sucks, (c) a reason he/she is awesomecakes, (d) five things that never happened to that character or (e) five people that character never fell in love with and why. You pick the character. I pick the letter.

Fandoms: Get wacky. Most American night-time TV programs from 1982-Present. Should I now know enough about the show to comment I will randomly select from an alternate show I believe to be somehow spiritually similar...

Darla?

Angelus wasn’t the first vampire she’d made, or the first companion she’d selected. But he was the first one who actually impressed her, and the only one who never bored her.

Every few decades, wonders how different her life would be if she had been born in a different time. Then shrugs off regret and forges ahead.

Hated having to deal with Angelus’ brood, knew that they were useless without her, and was always a little embarrassed to admit to herself that she might have liked being their “mother”. Except rarely had much patience for one of Angelus’ boys and thought Dru could have done much better.

Oh man the second is so very Darla. <33

Tootie from Facts of Life.

*g*

Tootie is awesome because she is unashamed to zip around on rollerskates. Tootie sucks because she no longer wants to be called Tootie.

Hmm how about Frasier Crane
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 04:36 (UTC)
1. There was the one time Frasier found a little baby girl in a basket on the steps out front of Cheers. He gave the baby to Carla, who took her to a church orphanage.

2. Frasier has never taken a dispute with his nemesis, Cam Winston, onto Judge Joe Brown – no matter how much Martin goads him.

3. During his post-graduate course at Oxford, Frasier turned down a girlfriend’s offer to attend a gathering because he didn’t like the riff-raff he saw in the crowd. And the excess use of psychotropic drugs. But he sometimes wonders whatever became of Deidre.

4. Never passed out from shock when Frederick said he wanted to go to a State School.

5. Never moved to Vancouver to take a consulting producer role for a TV drama about the lives of extraordinarily randy Psychiatric hospital interns.

NO.
For serious. I just posted mine. NO. TAKE OFF YOUR TIN HAT.
Monday, September 22nd, 2008 11:29 (UTC)
B-but I like my tin hat. It keeps my ears warm and lulls women with guns.

Cannot watch TV dramas, because he really doesn't want to hear about emo teens/twentysomethings facing off against conspiratorial government agencies...

Now successfully markets a line of specialty barbecue sauces...

Is still flying secret missions over unnamed Central Asian Republics.

Horatio Caine
Monday, September 22nd, 2008 03:02 (UTC)
Horatio Caine sucks, because he makes Captain Kirk look well modulated, and because he spends hours a day thinking up pithy one liners to take his glasses off to. Or put on to.

Maurice J. Minnifeld
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 03:35 (UTC)
Maurice is like a lot of Barry Corbin characters, and hits a type I'm usually very fond of.

He is awesome because he is a gruff, cranky, tough man - who behind all of his stodgy ways, has a very good heart and is much more open minded than people would think. And he takes care of his town.

But vain! Loved how Corbin got his sweet and selfish sides going, sometimes at the same time.
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 03:53 (UTC)
Yup. I'm a big Barry Corbin fan.
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 03:59 (UTC)
I love the MASH episode with the very young Corbin (or kind of young, at least).

Judge Harry (Stone? Crap, my pop culture brain is letting me down) from Night Court.
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008 03:32 (UTC)
1. Manhattan ADA Claire Kincaid (the Jill Hennessey character from Law & Order) because he likes outspoken and idealistic women who will argue with him.

2. Elaine Benes. Because he's a sucker for outspoken and cynical women who will argue with him. It didn't work out, because he wouldn't actually bend the law for her.

3. Dame Judi Dench. Because he saw her onstage and was smitten.

4. Drusilla. Sure she's a murderous vampire, but he's a sucker for eccentrics, and she shares his love of Mel Torme.

5. Elle Woods of Legally Blonde. Just a little. He likes outsiders.

Sidney Bristow from Alias
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 04:37 (UTC)
You may be getting an alternate selection. I barely watched any Alias...
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 11:28 (UTC)
You didn't watch Alias? Really. I think you would have really liked it- Sidney was kick-ass.
