I think the hierarchy of Hated Enemy Loss Schadenfruede works like so:
Complete and utter ass-kicking in a year they're supposed to be good. (See Notre Dame loss to Michigan)
The dramatic choke job
Comeback that falls dramatically short
I think the key thing is the drama. It's not so much fun watching a team that stinks get crushed. Or if it's a routine game. That botched FG and the late game miscues made it tasty.
Unfortunately, the Cowboys haven't had many years lately where they were expected to be good, and USC hasn't gotten many ass-kickings lately. It's a shame.
Dude. So I just switched over to the Four Letter to catch Highlights, and they're showing a random bowl game. Southern Miss has a punter named "Barefoot". That's awesome. Unfortunately, he's wearing shoes.
I love college football: not only are we graced with Britt Barefoot (which we know isn't very accurate) and Chubb Small (I don't want to know how accurate this one is), we also have Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada and my favorite, Jim Bob Cooter. John David Booty should be in there somewhere, too.
Next year, LSU will add T Bob Hebert to their offensive line. It's no Billy Jack Haskins, Cosey Coleman or Porkchop Womack, but I like that. College Sports Names are fun. The BBall Tourney is usually priceless too.
Oh, and excellent pro pigskin weekend for you--Dallas botches it on Romo's fumble fingered-ness and the Jints self-destruct...ONE! MORE! TIME! (As you can imagine, not so enjoyable for me.)
What I don't understand about the Giants is what the hell happened to their DEFENSE. The offense? The O-line is shoddy, Eli isn't his brother, Toomer's out, etc. etc; that I can understand. But I can't understand why this defense gives up four touchdowns a game. Even with the injuries, they should not be that bad. But the Eagles just blew through them for the final drive. *Scratches head*
I don't know what's up with your gints either. I would have thought that maybe they were sandbagging to get the coach fired, but apparently it's not that either...

And belated Happy Birthday, btw! I suck at remembering birthday posts. :-)
