Was at my friend Amy's wedding this weekend.

Amy is one of those people that makes me re-evaluate, whenever I see someone talk about how all the actresses in Hollywood are anorexic because they're skinny. Because Amy is the tiniest person ever, and totally a picture of health. I'm not going to make any political statement here or any cultural statement. I'm just saying, my friend is eentsy. Like, maybe she's 5'0" - and I doubt she's ever weighed 90 lbs. It is, BTW, much more fun to carry people up on chairs when they are tiny.

Anyhow - the wedding was fun, and unlike usual for me at weddings - I didn't actually get myself incredibly smashed as is often my wont at weddings. Instead, I mostly stuck to being happily buzzed.

The good news - my knees are progressing decently enough that I could dance at the wedding. Which was cool, since the band was the best wedding band I've ever seen. (They had range to do Neil Diamond, Beyonce, and The Time, and be good at all of them) The bad news - boy were them knees sore in the morning. Like - way sore. I pretty much did nothing all sunday, aside from watchig football on TV and pre-reading the script for the next AtS-6 episode.

An aside - how bad are the San Francisco 49ers? I could beat them...

Also - am thrilled to see Adrian Pasdar on Desperate Housewives playing a very Jim Profit like scumbag lawyer. Pasdar is awesome.

glad you had a good time. I always wondered what would happen if the bride weighted as much as me and you had to do the chair ceremony.

We've had to do some very hard work at the Bar Mitzvah of my cousin Big Seth (I've got multpile Cousin Seths) - because Big Seth's dad is a very big guy...

do you mind me asking, since I'm always so curious, what does the chair symbolize (and shuddering at the thought of having to lift my fat Italian relatives up should the Catholics have had a ritual like that)

I really don't remember - hopefully [livejournal.com profile] sneaker328 or [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom will chime in with an explanation.

Do you think the 49ers are even the worst team in the NFL? I mean, I think they could take the Texans. They've at least won a game. And they have a good defense.

Are the Niners worse than the Texans. Yeah. SF doesn't have a good defense. Hello - they just gave up 52 points to the Redskins. A Redskins team that hadn't scored 30 points since, what, the Clinton Administration?

The Texans are bad. Way bad. But watching the Niners game was like watching a JV team. Or maybe, like watching Your Local College Team playing against a DII opponent.

I'd argue that their defense isn't bad, it's just not used to the new scheme yet. They just switched from the 4-3 to the 3-4, and usually that takes most of a season to get used to. They have good players on defense, better than the Texans do.

The 49ers played the Colts better than the Texans did, within a two-week span (or maybe three, I don't fully remember). I can't think of any other common opponent.

One only hopes that they can meet later this year in the Toilet Bowl and settle it all...

As a sidenote - here in DC, Papa John's has a promotion on days following a Redskins game where you order a pizza and get one free topping per Touchdown, or two per if they win. Which means, today - 14-free toppings per pizza.

Score!

Yeah, I mean for some people it's totally normal for them to be that tiny. My best friend is skinny, skinny and it's just natural. She's had a lot of issues with people making cracks about it in various ways. She really does eat like a horse, too.

Yeah - Amy was on the field hockey team, and she would beat you with a stick if you gave her too much crap.

Actually not. Amy is the sweetest person. Which is sort of an issue, because you end up looking at here and thingking she's so cuuuuute and kind of a little girl instead of a grown up. Except that she is actually an adult.
