THat's my guess, anyway. When a dude rolls up on your leg like that. Torn ACL, my guess. Damn shame... If he's lucky, it's just a knee sprain or something.

WHAT???

Yeah. That? Looked painful as hell. He was walking on it -- or at least limping on it -- but that doesn't mean anything.

I'm guessing you didn't see MNF. On the last drive, a DT came falling through the offensive line just as Ben went to step forward and throw. The guys head went right into his knee just as his leg was braced on the ground and his knee buckled. You have to see the highlight. He might be okay but it looked real nasty.

Nope, you can't really tell. You can walk straight on a torn ACL just fine. What you cant do is turn. But it just might be a hyperextension. I don't know.

Oh, and congrats for your team...

Ouch. *winces*

Not to mention the adrenalin -- and shock -- can kinda muffle the pain of the actual injury.

And thanks! Now they just gotta stop celebrating, shower, pack, fly halfway across the country, sleep, get up, go to the ballpark, and play a playoff game in less than a day. With a decimated pitching staff. No problem.

Did you see that McAllister tore his ACL and is out for the season? There go the rest of the Saints' hopes of a decent season.
Tuesday, October 11th, 2005 13:16 (UTC)
Yeah. I saw. Usually, the Saints don't tank until December. This is a lousy year for them...

Nasty.

Over here in Jet-land, we're suffering through TWO quarterbacks down with major injuries. Gonna have to rely on our running backs and "D" to take us through the season.

And your backup RB is out too.

My Washington team isn't too badly hit by injuries. They just can' make plays on Defense or actually score.

this was...well just damn bad (I'm a native Pittsburger). I'm hoping it's not as bad as it looked

According to ESPN, they said it was a Hyper-Extended Knee with a bone bruise. He's not supposed to play next week and it seems to be a "weeks" instead of "months" deal which is very good. But boy - it sure looked scary.

Mom said on the local news he might even play this weekend. I sure as hell hope not since that would involve lots of pain killers and risk permanent damage

Yeah.

The ESPN NFL people were saying that it was just a smokescreen by the coach to make the other team have to gameplan for both Quarterbacks. I'd be very suprised if he played.

So would I. For his own sake, I hope he doesn't. He's too young to end his career now
