Update with correct guesses from my favorite character meme.

4) That 70’s Show
5) Night Court
6) Fraser
7) Gilmore Girls
8) Transformers
9) The Tick (The Animated Series)

1) Buffy the Vampire Slayer
mistress_mab
Buffy Summers- Maybe it's because she reminds me of both of my sisters (in different ways)... I have tremendous respect for people who work hard, who give up what they want and take on responsibility, and who do so out of love rather than because it's just what they're told to do. Someone who is MJ-level talented, but who is far more forgiving and far less judgemental than could be possibly expected given her experiences.
2) Married... with Children
Buck Bundy
If nothing else, I usually like the dog. Especially if it acts like an old dog. Most of the characters were disagreeable on their best days. But Buck Bundy rocked....
3) Sanford & Son
cleapet
Fred Sanford - As much as I like that guy who shows up only to say "Yeeeesssss!" Fred is one of my favorite characters ever. He's petty, he tells ridiculous lies, and he constantly calls his dutiful son a "Big Dummy". And yet, Fred just amuses me. I have a soft spot for cranky old guys.
4) That 70’s Show
cleapet
Reginald "Red" Foreman - My dad's parenting style is sort of 50/50 Red Foreman/Sandy Cohen, a strange combo. Red is not the most emotionally open of fathers. He's a perpetual grouch. But when he calls his son a dumbass, he does it with love. And as a kid, I constantly was asking, with my actions, for my dad to call me a dumbass. (Actually, dad called me "Jerko" when I did stupid things.)
5) Night Court
Macintosh "Mac" Robinson
OMG Mac/Quon Lee 4EVAH Squee. Mostly it's this... in a show full of ridiculous and zany characters, and zany situations, Mac was 'there'. The guy who looked at everyone and recognized they were dopes. When everybody is too zany, there needs to be a Mac character that sort of holds everything together without requiring focus.
6) Fraser
marenfic
Martin Crane
Frasier is such a blowhard, and John Mahoney was so great for the part. Cranky retired ex-cop who loves his doofus sons. And has that great doggie. His interaction with the other characters was wonderful. Exactly the sort of characters I tend to like, because for all his flaws, he genuinely cares about more than himself. (And those immediately next to him.)
Side note to
karabair - We always thought Colvin was very Niles-like, and Gil Chesterton and Edwards were eerily similar...
7) Gilmore Girls
marenfic
Luke Danes
I actually don't watch Gilmore Girls too much.. but again, I tend to like people who put up with way too much, gripe about stuff, but mostly keep going and trying to do "right". But again - I'm big on the curmudgeons.
8) Transformers
Grimlock
When I was a boy, I knew these truths:
Dinosaurs are cool.
Giant Fighting Robots are cool.
Giant Fighting Robot Dinosaurs are the coolest things ever!!!
Grimlock was a robot that, for some reason, transformed into a Tyrannosaurus Rex. And he was ridiculously dumb, generally blundering around and saying "Me Grimlock Smash". That's awesome.
9) The Tick (The Animated Series)
cleapet
The Tick - Tick is awesome. He has a compliment of superpowers, a sense of justice, and the combined enthusiasm, innocence, and common sense of a five year old. The Tick's episode ending homilies are not to be missed.
10) Scrubs
cleapet
Dr. Perry Cox - another crusty father/mentor figure. What can I say - I get along well with my dad. And Dr. Cox is screwed up in a funny way
Also, because Red Foxx, Kurtwood Smith and John C. McGinley are awesome.
