Damn, I'm really tired. I never get enough sleep, and usually it catches up with me in November and May. This year is no exception. On top of that, I've been having extra-insomnia going. Sunday night, I just gave up and stayed awake long enough to just go into work early. The net result is that, instead of producing the sort of work my bosses and customers look at and say "wow, that's good!" -- this week I'm producing the sort of work where people say "I guess that'll do."

So, anybody in the DC Area want to go to the Maryland vs. Wake Forest football game? I have season tickets with the parents and siblings -- when the parents returned from vacation in Pascagoula, mom had pneumonia, so her seat is up for grabs...

Also, this Saturday night will be my Ten-year High School reunion. Given my own particular brand of post-graduation notoriety, I'm really kind of looking forward to this. By most standards, given the sort of expectations I'd built up in the hometown -- I'd actually clock in as a bit of a disappointment if not for my TeeVee fame. Or at least, by my own standards.

Also, for those who've done the reunion thing... I'm not wearing a tie. The question is, Sportcoat or No?

My 10th was just this side of black tie so I can't help you. I went all out. I was the Willow of the school and I was one of the few who still wasn't working the same dead end job they had in high school (me being fresh from my residency on an Indian Reservation). I went for revenge alone.

Terrapins and Demon Deacons?............I would rather see Tarheels.

I say yes to the Sportcoat, especially if you're not wearing a tie. My reunion wasn't formal, but it was on the dressy side and I think most generally are.

That sucks about the insomnia. I don't sleep very well either, I have a hard time relaxing enough to fall asleep. As a result, I'm often fighting to keep my eyes open at work but then I'm wide awake at midnight. It's a drag.

Wear a dress. Screw 'em if they can't take a joke.

(So far I've missed all my HS reunions which is a shame since there are actually some people I'd like to catch up with.)

But I don't wanna wear a dress...

Maybe I can get a Puffy Shirt...

I went for revenge alone.

Well, I do enjoy social gatherings. And even though I've no particular intent to pursue anybody, I like that sense of optimistic 'I might get laid' feeling I always get before these things. And I want to see who's held up...

Yes. But that's not on the schedule this year. So we make due with Wake. To be honest, I'm pretty ambivalent since this one since Maryland is 4-6, and it's going to basically be the first game of Spring practice for next year.

I'm thinking jacket too. As per usual, I'll probably wind up calling my sister and going with whatever she recommends. It's a habit...

I have a hard time relaxing enough to fall asleep.

For me, I think I just have a hyper-active brain. I know I should sleep, and I do feel tired. But I'm always distracting myself with stuff to watch or read, when I should sleep... And then I get not enough sleep and am unproductive when awake, requiring me to stay up longer to do the things I've fallen behind on. Or fit in the amusements I have put off.

'tis a vicious cycle, and I no longer have the built in breaks of the academic calendar to bail me out...

Definite yes to the jacket. You can always take it off, but I suspect it will be a sportcoat affair.

Dave, do we need to have a talk about sleep hygeine here? I'm sure I can stage an intervention.

i was more interested to see if still wanted most of them dead. Curiously, it was fun to watch the Cordelia's of my class kissing my I'm Now A Doctor butt and sadly all they could offer to the conversation was the price of lunch meat at the Kroger's and if they were lucky maybe talk about their kids.

Though I did feel sorry for one of them. She's married to my brother's best friend and I was talking to her at my brother's wedding reception and she was crying because all she ever did was get married and had kids and had no life outside of them and all the other ladies in the wedding party had careers and lives.

Ah just wear the birthday suit and be done with.................hey at least they will know what they are getting when they invite you to their room (or yours, since it will be the premier suite and you must do that *BEG*).

I went to both my ten and twenty year and the invitations pretty much stated the dress...ours were both semi formal.......meaning dressy dresses(not gowns)....the guys wore suits or dress slacks and a dress shirt.

I may be beyond help. I've had terrible sleeping habits going back as far as at least when I was 12, getting ready for my Bar-Mitzvah.

Me too. Man, me too.

So, anybody in the DC Area want to go to the Maryland vs. Wake Forest football game?

JEALOUS! Wah!!!! ::sobs::

I miss ACC basketball so much. I haven't seen a game live in FOREVER. MAN!
Tuesday, November 23rd, 2004 23:30 (UTC)
Well, I mean in person, obviously. Karen = lame.
Wednesday, November 24th, 2004 04:29 (UTC)
Dude. Check it. Maryland vs. Wake in FOOTBALL. Not the basketball.

I would have absolutely ZERO difficulty finding people in RL to go to a Maryland-Wake Basketball game.
Wednesday, November 24th, 2004 13:44 (UTC)
Oh. Not jealous anymore. And yeah, I'm an idiot; why the hell would they be playing each other now? Ugh.

Hee. Such a spaz.

And... you even said football. Wow. I think I deserve an award for that one.
