Yesterday's entry has the list of already answered songs. Here's what's left out there, with an extra clue:

1) His kind of love is going to kill you. Do you fake a smile when you dodge the blows?
So many times, so many chances. This one could be your last. (Musical Group. Recorded 1993. Released 1995)

2) Do you think I can afford to give you my love? You think you're higher than every star above
(Jean Knight - Mr. Big Stuff [livejournal.com profile] dherblay)

5) Although I want you bad I could let you go cause there's a lot of girls out there that won't say no
(Bobby Brown - Don't Be Cruel [livejournal.com profile] ludditerobot)

12) I said baby, don't get too comfortable, 'cause I really like to sleep alone. Leave your number on the table by my data bank. I love you, but you got to go. (Musical Group, 1990)

1) Holy Crap, it's the Smashing Pumpkins. It just came to me. "Disarm?"

2) ?? No idea who was a female artist in 1971. Carly Simon's already had one. Helen Reddy? "I am woman, hear me roar?"

3) *snerk* Whoever it is, I'm guessing he's pretty obscure these days and thus the line carries a faint odor of cheese. I'll go with David Lee Roth as my final answer, Dave.

4) Bell, Biv, Devoe? I know how much you like them. :-) Also, what the hell is a data bank?

1- No.
2- No. This one is the most obscure one left.
5- No. He's not entirely obscure, though like David Lee Roth, he's now better known for his problems than he is for music.
12- No.

Don't Be Cruel. Since we're so late and nobody else guessed, I'm feeling freer to Google. Still, I haven't heard the song.
