Last night in Baltimore:

University of Maryland 23
United States Naval Academy 20

Parking fee was $30, which is getting crazy, but had a good time at the Marine Colnel's tailgate. It's a little awkward, as a Maryland alum, since all of my friends and family are Maryland people... whereas most of my CoWorkers and bosses are Navy folks. The Admiral will be unhappy about this, but then, he has bigger concerns right now. He'll be down in Pascagoula, probably for awhile...

The Navy does a large amount of very significant shipbuilding on the gulf coast. We currently have ten major ships under construction in Avondale LA, and in Pascagoula, and a probably $10 Billion in assetts there. My company, and the Navy, and NGSS, have a whole lot of workers on the gulf who've had their towns destroyed. I don't quite know, just yet, what we'll be doing about it, but I imagine it's going to be a lot.

And ganked from [livejournal.com profile] londonkds:

If this statement applies to you in any way (national, regional, municipal), put it in your LJ and be proud.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help you.
