I feel like should generate some content, given as a few new folks have added me to their flist. So, meaningless blather about the fairly busy past week:
There was work, where I was doing some media support for the Surface Navy Association's annual conference and expo. Got to sit in on a few seminars about the CNO's Guidance, and also collected some schwag. Then it was back to the office to run a meeting on a Weapons Report for Congress. It's remarkably sad how meetings about super-cool, space-age weapons sysems can be so amazingly boring.
But, with all these meetings, I had the fine occaision to break out the new nice clothing I've picked up over B-Day and Hannukah, so the ladies were suitably impressed...
Also noticed that this weekend is the 16th anniversary of my Bar-Mitzvah. It's strangely tough coming to terms with the fact that I'm ostensibly a grownup. Not too much of a grown-up though - tonight we went out for Fondue. No matter how old I get, I doubt I'll ever lose the enthusiasm for that big bowl of melted cheese.
Oh. Also, discovered this week that my ex-girlfriend's father was elected to congress this November - something I hadn't been aware of since I don't monitor his district, and since he doesn't work on any of the policy areas I deal with. She and I stopped seeing each other with good reason, though we parted on good terms. Guess I'll have to see if I can look her up again, as this suddenly becomes a far more valuable contact. It's sort of similar to the renaissance my resume went through last year when JK won the Democratic Nomination...
