Am having the usual gang of idiots over to play cards, drink beer, and watch the superbowl. And WJM's dad, because he promised to bring burgers and ribs if we gave him an excuse to escape the homsestead.

We are giving folks.

As always, my predicitons should not be used as basis for a cash wager. (Particularly if you tracked my Bowl Predictions) Chalk has New England. Wiggles the Monkey says Carolina. Coinflip comes up New England. And me:

New England 27, Carolina 17
Super Bowl MVP: Tom Brady.

Addendum: On Superbowl Sundays in which NcState beats Maryland (as they did this year), the AFC team is 4-0.

Personally, I have no stake in this game. I just want to not be bored.

"it was wishful thinking, overselling, the neutralizing of dissent within government and the idea that war was a test of national will..."

"To put it bluntly, at the heart of the calamity is a group of able, dedicated men who have been regularly and repeatedly wrong - and whose standing with their contemporaries, and more important, with history depends, as they see it, on being proven right. These are not men who can be asked to extricate themselves from error."

Points to those who can identify the speaker and the subject.
