Terps Thursday
Other folks on the friends list are talking about Angel, The OC, or one of the other TV shows. Not me. I'm taking the rest of today off. Gonna get my hair cut, for cousin Brian's wedding next weekend. Then I'm off to College Park...
Taped AtS, and watched my Terps in their opening exhibition. The team is going to be very young, having lost all five starters to graduation. John Gilchrist looks like he's going to be the man, which is cool. I also came away impressed by freshman guard, DJ Strawberry. And yes, that's Darryl Strawberry, Jr. for those paying attention. DJ can ball, and apparently isn't a knucklehead like his old man. They're ranked #25 in the Coaches poll, and pre-season 5th in the ACC. I'm really going to miss the days of the ACC as a basketball conference. Bringing in BC, Miami, and VaTech will be great, moneywise, but it's going to diminish the conference as a whole. Miami and VT have no basketball legacy at all, and Boston just does not fit. Us Marylanders have issues enough with feeling "too northern" for a tobacco road conference. And now there are rumors of Notre Dame. Gah - they belong in the Big Ten, if anywhere...
Tonight is the big MD-UVa football game. I'll be in my corner end zone seats. It's no Michigan-Ohio State, but we do have a rivalry. Winner gets a good bowl game. Loser, is likely off to Boise for the Humanitarian Bowl.

We won, 27-17. It was cold as crap. But I'm happy. Yay!
