Holy moley bejeebus, UVa is kicking the crap out of my Terps. Yeah, we beat Clemson - but this on the heels of the Women getting smacked around at Duke very much bums me out. Plus, we lost to freakin' Miami this week.

Reason #3,892 I love College Basketball more than the NBA? The crowd noise. Non-NBA Finals NBA games might as well be played in mausoleums. College Games have awesome crowd noise, thanks to usually-into-it student sections, if nothing else. Plus the chants (bonus points for profanity!) I wonder if I could get an Ambient College Basketball Crowd noise on CD?

It really takes something special, like Gilbert Arenas going bananas in the last minute to make an NBA game interesting. College games always have a rhythm. I just wish tonight's game didn't have the rhythm of them kicking our ass.

And in many cases--at least in mine--the fieldhouses are small enough that the noise fills the place. Apparently last night for Mizzu we had more students waiting to get in than ever before. Over one hundred each representing up to thirty students holding place in line. We blew away the average of sixty five groups!

Sorry about the Terps.

I find the NBA pretty much all around dull; gimme a college game any day!

On occasion there are intense NBA games, but it's really dependent. You maybe see them once or twice in a finals series, and not even every year. Like some of the Dallas-San Antonio games.

And even the big non-NBA college arenas are pretty good. The Comcast Center (17,000 seats), where Maryland plays, is decent, though it's not as good as the old Cole Field House (which seated 14,500)

Oh, and as we were typing, Maryland just went on a 13-0 run at the end of the half to cut it from 50-30 to 50-43.

"awesome crowd noise"...

Yes, I'm sure you can hear the IZZONE all the way out on the east coast - and it's a "rebuilding year".

Don't discount the Spartans because of their slow start.. they tend to peak late! Now, will you need a green hat with a block "S" for the final four? - LOLOLOL!!

Maryland 62
Michigan State 60

So yeah, I'm gonna be a big MSU fan this year. Given our crap performances against Miami and UVa, we'll need all the RPI help we can get. Rebuild fast Izzo, and make us look better for beating you...

But, I don't think I can wear that Green Block S Hat. Might make me a bit unpopular at the alumni mixers. Heh

It might get you killed, or I'd have sent you one already!!
